Kiwis Remain On Top Of World Series Standings

In this weekend`s debut tournament of seven-a-side rugby in Beijing, New Zealand thrashed the Americans 40-7 before demolishing the strong Fijians 35-12 in the semifinals.
The Kiwis then went on to victory in the championship match, defeating rivals South Africa 41-14 after a high scoring second half.
South Africa had beaten Argentina 33-12, defeated Australia 19-12 in the other semifinal before losing in the finals to New Zealand.
Samoa turned a 20-0 early lead into a 54-7 victory over Argentina that followed a loss to Australia 17-12 in the quarterfinals of the Cup.
France took the Bowl, fighting back from a 14-point deficit and after a good defensive display beat the South Koreans by one point, final score 15-14. In the Bowl Final, the French beat Canada 24-19.

The Welsh team got off to a good start defeating Japan 17-15 despite strong performances from Japan`s three big forwards, but then fell behind early and lost to Canada, a strong favorite, 29-17.
Tournament host China lost both its games, losing 29-7 to Hong Kong who displayed a good defensive effort and then to South Korea 36-5. But unfortunately for the Hong Kong team, their run of good play ended there – they went on to be defeated 41-5 by the French, and then crushed by Japan 40-5.
After a hard fought battle Canada outplayed Chinese Taipei 40-17.
Chinese Taipei also fell to Japan 24-12 despite a late comeback.
Fiji defeated England 28-14 before falling to New Zealand.
After defeating the Americans 21-12, England went on to win the Plate Final beating Samoa 33-14.
