Mr Hosie said, “I have no wish to pre-judge what may emerge from this meeting. However, it is clear that most people now recognise the need for greater harmony. Anyone with responsibility for maintaining standards of discipline and behaviour in rugby knows that Laws must be clear and unambiguous and that they must be applied consistently and equitably. This is too serious and too important a subject for there to be any doubt. We must send out the message that rugby is determined to eradicate violence and bad behaviour – wherever it occurs”.
