Wales Launch 2003 Six Nations Campaign In Italy
Wales will kick-off the 2003 Six Nations Championship with an away trip to Italy.
Steve Hansen’s men will face the only team they managed to beat in the 2002 campaign at Stadio Flaminio on either 15/16 February.
A week later, Wales will be on home soil at the Millennium Stadium to face arch-rivals England.
Their other home game is against Ireland on 22/23 March, while they also have to travel to Scotland (8/9 March) and France (29/30 March).
The first round of matches will see a head-to-head between last season’s top two sides, Grand Slam champions France and runners-up England at Twickenham.
Scotland host third placed Ireland at Murrayfield on the same weekend.
The Irish are faced with two successive away games at the start of the championship, having to travel to Italy a week later.
The championship has been condensed into a seven week period for the first time in its history. The first two rounds of matches will be played on successive weekends; there will be a fortnight before round three; another two week gap before round four, with round five following the weekend after.
