Llanelli Centre Has A Testimonial.
Ten years ago Llanelli defeated the Australian touring side at Stradey Park and for centre Neil Boobyer it was the greatest moment of his career.
Boobyer went on to win seven caps for Wales after having played for his country at Youth, under-19, under-21, Students, Emerging Wales and A team levels.
He gained three cup-winners medals and three league titles with his twin brother Roddy occasionally partnering him, before elder brother Ian joined the Scarlets as a flanker.
Now, Neil will have a testimonial beginning with a match against Leeds Tykes at Stradey Park on August 17 (kick-off 2.30pm).
“Though rugby is a lot different now, one thing that remains constant is the fans,” said Neil. “And we have the best fans in world rugby at Llanelli. If we can reach the Heineken Cup final this year, it will be for them.”
