Four second half tries earned Swansea a bonus point, but it wasn’t enough to stop Munster making it four out of four in Pool A of the Celtic League.
Even without the services of their Irish outside half Ronan O’Gara, Munster had an ace goalkicker in their side in full back Jeremy Staunton.
He kicked the home side into a 12-3 lead with four penalties in response to Arwel Thomas’ second minute drop goal. A try from wing Mossie Lawlor, converted by Staunton, gave the home side a 19-3 interval lead
Things got worse for Swansea early in the second half when Dominic Crotty intercepted on his own 22 and raced the length of the field to score
The full back was at it again after 51 minutes when he grabbed a second try. This time Staunton converted and Munster were 28 points ahead and seemingly out of sight at 31-3.
Thomas and Steve Winn mountd a fightbackwith tries that cut the deficit to 16 points, but a try from scrum half Mike Predergast re-established the Munster hold on proceedings.
There was at least a strong finish from the Whites as Colin Charvis and Gavin Henson grabbed tries to earn a bonus point.
