Byron Hayward was at his best as he landed conversions to two of his side’s three tries and added six penalty goals for a 22-point haul in the 37-21 win over Cross Keys.
Carmarthen Quins pulled off a good 36-10 win at Tredegar, despite a bad collision between wingers Josh Freeman and Nicky Jones early in the match. Both went off, but Carmarthen weathered the storm and one of the replacements, Giles Thomas, scored 11 points.
Aberavon ran in nine tries, three by fireman Lee Abdul on the wing, in defeating Beddau 62-11 while the shock of the day was at Pandy Park where Tondu gained their first home win in defeating Narberth 38-24. Fly half Mark Jones scored a brace of tries and landed four conversions.
Bonymaen suddenly hit form to defeat Blackwood 43-25 with centre James Davies kicking 13 points and newcomer Colin Jones being an inspiration at fly half.
Bedwas beat Glamorgan Wanderers 25-12 with just one try in the match, scored by Stefan Sankala, and skipper Damian Cooper scored the only try for Newbridge in their 19-15 win at Whitland.
Llandovery and Llanharan shared eight tries at Church Bank as the Drovers won 37-25, while in the basement battle a last-gasp penalty by full back Stuart Thomas took Treorchy to a 19-18 win at Rumney.
