Randell played his 50th Test against France at the weekend and has led the All Blacks 21 times – behind only Wilson Whineray and Sean Fitzpatrick. He is New Zealand’s youngest ever captain – first donning the skipper’s armband at the age of 23.
The Otago Highlander backrower has had a chequered career as skipper, including losing five Tests in a row in 1998 and leading the All Blacks in their disappointing fourth-place finish at the 1999 World Cup. He was dumped after that tournament but fought his way back into the side with some superb performances at Super 12 level.
A regular try-scorer, Randell can play any position in the back row. He also has a double degree in law and commerce.

**Have you seen Randell play…Where and when – and should Wales be worried?
