Before joining the Scarlets, Dafydd played for Aberavon and Llandovery. He made his first team debut for Llanelli against Leicester in August 1999. He has made over 70 appearances for the Scarlets. Scoring eight tries In a recent interview Dafydd claimed his greatest ambition was to play for Wales – now that ambition will be realised.
‘ ‘It’s going to be a dream come true for me. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do,’ he said.
‘It’s a tough game in which to make your debut because the Fijians are physically strong. It’s going to be hard up front.
‘But I’m desperate to keep my place for the New Zealand game. In rugby, everyone in Wales wants to play against England and New Zealand, so I want to play well on Saturday and achieve my boyhood dream of playing against the All Blacks.
