Kate says:”Currently living in France where everyone thinks I’m from Portugal when I say I’m from Pays de Galles. Don’t know too many rugby fans but the people I’ve met certainly know where Wales is now, believe me!!
“If there’s any more welsh ex pats in France or Switzerland, I’d love to hear from them. Cheers!”
Howard Nicholls is in need of help, he says: ‘Welshman stranded in Cairo, Egypt seeking somewhere to watch the Italy game this weekend. Any ideas?”
“Interested to hear from any welsh rugby fans and anyone interested watching England getting beat from the Northern Italy region. In particular, Varese area. Bring back Shane Howarth, he’s my hero.”
“I am really interested in playing Rugby, I am 5.75ft tall a great shape because I build my body regularly. I will be very glad if you could send me your response.” SAHEED ADENIRAN from Nigeria.
‘We are only in Bucks England but would be interested in hearing from Welsh youth or mini teams that are planning to tour the Amersham, NW London area. We have quite strong teams at under 15, which I coach but would be able to handle sides from under 7 upwards. We are called Amersham & Chiltern RFC and our website is Chilternrugby.com’
‘I looked after the team that won out company-sponsored European 7s tournament in Heidelberg, Germany in 2000.
Heidelberg has a couple of decent rugby teams, male and female, with players who play for Germany. I could put people in touch if any clubs are interested in a visit”. Best regards, John.’
Gareth Ivans from South Africa: “How are things there? Welsh rugby coverage here is non-existent, really miss S4C. All the best for the 6 Nations. We are rooting for you this side. Would love to hear from other Welshmen who are living in South Africa.
‘I live in Sydney NSW & would like to have a couple of Welsh supporters use my house as a base during the World Cup – free of charge, of course. My wife & I hosted a Danish couple during the Sydney Olympics & very much enjoyed the experience. any one interested could contact me via e-mail. kindest regards.’

Michael Harris is living in France, he says “As a player and a welsh fan I listen to a lot of critics from the French considering how sad welsh rugby has become. the structure of the welsh championship has seen from here does not help the Welsh at all. bringing in second class third class foreign players does not either. welsh rugby in my belief should work with the clubs who do have the capability of pulling welsh rugby to the top even if it means having two teams from the same club in the league it may sound daft but all players who sign for the same club and spend their time on the bench would get to play more first class rugby I don’t believe in regional rugby it’s too late and the club’s who have the money have the power. Welsh rugby has not got the same problems as the Irish.

It means that players are found from all levels and grass roots means grass roots not just ‘one part of the country’. (as it is home in Wales, live in south Wales or remain unknown)… did anyone ever discover probably the best number 7 in Wales? Brynmor Williams of Caernarfon Rugby Club? (Probably a better player than his legendary name sake) No, didn’t think so!!!
What is even sadder is that Welsh rugby is considered with a giggle over here in New Zealand, you see the memories of the 70s don’t travel that far… people want new memories.
I will still remain faithful to the red shirts, my son however is
already aiming for the All Blacks, I have assured him that he should get NZ trained and spotted by the Welsh, as there is more chance of that happening living here than in North Wales.
I will be cheering for the reds in Hamilton this year, and will ignore the jokes about Welsh handling skills, or lack of them.

“You asked me for a message; I do not have a message for you : I’m surfing, but I was a member of Ebbw Vale and Merthyr Tydfil rugby clubs, I was also there at the creation of Dowlais Rugby Club: This was in the early seventies. The only anecdote that I can offer you is the time that I found Myself standing next to Denzil Thomas at the Stade de Prince when he looked for his seat with the ticket number; they tried to tell him that the number did not matter, which he didn’t take to kindly to. I tried to explain to him that he was speaking to the French C.R.S. who are renowned in France for their riot tactics: he was not put off at all, he asked me to translate something to them , which I did and lo and behold he and his friends got their seats.’
