WRU Group Chief Executive David Moffett is expecting a response from Premier Division clubs today (Thursday 27 March)after the union board of directors backed their plans to move to five regions next season.

Full details of the package to bring about the five will be sent to the clubs today.

David Moffett said:’The regional proposal has been given a very clear mandate by the WRU board.

‘We are on the edge and we have to go forward for the sake of Welsh rugby.’

The European Rugby Cup has given the WRU until April 2 to present a unified front on regionalisation. The five proposed regions are CardiffSwansea and Neath; and Newport and Ebbw Vale.
