David Moffett said:’The regional proposal has been given a very clear mandate by the WRU board.

‘We are on the edge and we have to go forward for the sake of Welsh rugby.’

The European Rugby Cup has given the WRU until April 2 to present a unified front on regionalisation. The five proposed regions are Cardiff; Llanelli; Bridgend and Pontypridd; Swansea and Neath; and Newport and Ebbw Vale.
