With five players away on Six Nations duty with Wales, the PARKER PEN CHALLENGE CUP semi-finalists used the game to re-introduce three of their long term injury victims.

‘It was a real battle for us and the players did very well to stick at it. e really needed a game and it was great to see Neil Jenkins, Sonny Parker and Duncan Bell come through the full 80 minutes,’ said Howells.

‘We have lost a lot of our momentum during the Six Nations and we needed a tough game. Now we have got a Principality Cup tie with Cardiff to use as our final warm-up for the first leg of our semi-final against London Wasps.

‘It has not been an ideal build-up, and we certainly know how good a side London Wasps are, but with almost everyone back from injury we will at least have a full strength squad to pick from.’

World record points scorer Jenkins will be vying with Ceri Sweeney for the No 10 jersey against London Wasps after recovering from a broken thumb, while Wales centre Parker has returned to the fray after breaking his arm in the quarter-final win over Connacht.

Tight head prop Bell had been ruled out with shoulder problems, but he is now fit to return to join Wales internationals Gethin Jenkins and Mefin Davies in the front row.
