The shirt is on sale exclusively at Welsh Rugby Union outlets and was launched by the ex-Wales skipper in a move that is a first for the Barbarians and the WRU.
The Millennium Stadium shop and the official WRU shop on Wood Street in Cardiff are the only outlets world-wide selling the shirts on behalf of the international select side.
“We decided to take up the initiative on this one and give the Barbarians an outlet for their much sort after merchandise,” said WRU group commercial manager Gwyn Thomas.
“The Barbarians’ tour takes in England, Scotland and Wales but, as yet, you can only buy the shirt in Wales or from either the Barbarians or the WRU websites.”
The new shirt, sponsored by Lloyds TSB as part of their three-year deal with the BaaBaas, retails at £44.99 adults and £39.99 children – with childrens’ sizes and the short sleeve version to be available from matchday at Millennium Stadium.
“The Barbarians have always had a close relationship with Wales, the country has been something of a spiritual home for us over the years,” added Kevin Stuart, spokesman for the BaaBaas and a key member of the official supporters club.
“No other retailers in Britain are selling the shirts and this is a goodwill gesture from the Welsh Rugby Union that is greatly appreciated.”
The new BaaBaas shirt is available from the WRU Merchandise Store, Wood St Cardiff and the Millennium Stadium Store, Gate 3 Westgate St Cardiff. Or fans can order on order on line at www.wru.co.uk and www.barbarianfc.co.uk or call: 029 20 232700 for Mail Order.
