Three from three on Day 1, Wales had an exceptional day in front of their home fans at the Arms Park.
Wales put a severe dent into England’s IRB title hopes with a stunning 26-14 win in perfect conditions at Cardiff’s Arms Park on Saturday.
England, who trail series leaders New Zealand by 16 points with the Cardiff and London tournaments remaining, were hot favourites against their neighbours, but awful tackling and a committed Welsh effort combined to frustrate them.
Wales stunned England with early tries to Tal Selley and captain Jason Forster, both converted by Ben Breeze, before Breeze finished off a wonderful attacking move in the corner to take the score to 19-0 at the break.
England hit back with a length-of-the-field try to Ugo Moyne and a long-range effort from Mark Cueto, but a wonderful hand-off from Gareth Williams saw him score near the posts and Breeze’s conversion put the match out of England’s reach.
