Welsh Rugby Union Group Chief Executive David Moffett and his new management team returned today (Thursday) from an exclusive two day meeting designed to formulate top level strategic plans for the future of Welsh rugby.

In attendance, alongside Mr Moffett, where the new WRU group general, commercial and marketing manager Gwyn Thomas, new Millennium Stadium general manager Paul Sargeant and new WRU group general manager Steve Lewis.
“We have been formulating several strategic plans for the WRU and Millennium Stadium,” said Mr Moffett.
“There will be a first draft shortly to present to the Boards of the Union and the Stadium and then we expect to publish the plans soon after.
“We have come up with the high level strategies necessary to move Welsh Rugby and Wales’ national ground forward.
“I’ve personally been at the WRU now for five months, which is the longest period of any of the senior management team, and I have been particularly encouraged by the vision and genuine passion for the future of Welsh rugby shown over the past 48 hrs.
“This has been an extremely valuable exercise and these have probably been the most important two days of my WRU career to date, made all the better by the objective viewpoints of Ieuan and his highly professional organisation.”
