Welsh Premiership Preview

Old rivals Aberavon and Neath meet for the first time in several seasons in what could be the match of the day in the Premier division on Saturday. The Wizards are the only club in the top flight who a 100% record, and at scrum half, Neath’s Patrick Horgan and the Aberavon duo of Mark Davies and Danny Hawkins have all played for the opposition.
Cardiff play hosts to Llandovery, though, when the clubs were last due to play at the Arms Park in season 1998-99, the cup match was switched to Church Bank with Cardiff winners by 40-22.
Pontypool have injuries to Ben Jeffries, Stuart Lawrence, James Rowles and Nicky Lloyd before naming a side to entertain Caerphilly, while more old rivals meet at St Helen’s, as Swansea entertain Llanelli.
Ebbw Vale should have skipper Gareth Green in the starting lineup at Bedwas; Bridgend will hope to continue their improvement at home to Carmarthen Quins and fomer Newport and Wales skipper Mike Watkins will await his old club at Newbridge, who he now coaches.
