The High School services the Weston Creek area, which was the hardest hit during the January bushfires. Every student and staff member was affected directly or indirectly by the blazes
“Canberra has welcomed Wales with open arms during our stay here, and the team is very keen to repay the hospitality,” said team manager Alan Phillips.
“The bushfires may have been nine months ago, but we know the memories are still fresh. We’re delighted to be able to help the kids, even in a small way.”
Skills coach Scott Johnson plus two members of the squad not playing this weekend will visit the school at 2.30pm.
The coaching clinic will involve junior players from the Royals club. The British High Commission and ACT Government Bushfire Recovery Taskforce are helping to organise the visit.
