FIRST THE CANADIANS, NOW IT’S TONGA’S TURN TO BE INCINERATED – John Tran

Wales have made it 2 from 2 after weathering a huge Tongan charge to win the match in Canberra 27-20.

It all looked pear shaped at first, but we all know that the Welsh were not to lose this game and rightly so – the Tongans were gallant, but still disappointing as the Red Dragons blocked any hope of an ‘Ikale Tahi’ victory with great effect.

Although a bonus point backfired on them, it was still a victory nonetheless.

Congratulations Wales, you really are my rugby team! Keep up the good work and let’s see if we can blow Italy out of the water before the All Black challenge.

WALES MUST DO BETTER – Nigel Lewis

If Wales want to win the World Cup, or at least come home with some credibility, then they have to aim higher than a seven point squeezed victory over Tonga.

Tonga may have beaten us in the past, but with the professional era established in Wales, this should never be repeated.

But it very nearly was, and how we would have seen the blushes form coach Steve Hansen.

The confident display of last weekend was not apparent – the mass changes Hansen made on the side resulted in confusion, and a lack of continuity.

Come on Wales; keep it simple and consistent and beat Italy.

Wales fans who witnessed the 27-20 win over Tonga at the weekend have expressed their displeasure at the performance in the wru.co.uk poll…

Just two percent of voters rated Wales performance at seven or more, this week, that percentage is down to just six pre cent.

Twenty four per cent of fans rated Wales at four out of ten.

We asked you to send in your player ratings, over two hundred have been sent to the site, and this feedback from Carwyn is typical of the ratings…

Rhys Williams 5/10
Mark Jones 7/10
Mark Taylor 5/10
Iestyn Harris 7/10
Tom Shanklin 4/10
Stephan Jones 4/10
Gareth Cooper 6/10
Alix Popham 5/10
Colin Charvis 5/10
Dafydd Jones 5/10
Robert Sidoli 5/10
Gareth Llewellyn 4/10
Gethin Jenkins 5/10
Mefin Davies 5/10
Iestyn Thomas 5/10

There have also been many more messages of support for the Wales team… Robert Evans sent this classic message

“Don’t worry about the Tonga game, conditions were difficult and too high predictions were made over the game, we came home with a win and we now regroup and recharge for the Italy game, there’s a whole week to go for that and anything can happen in a week, I’m still proud we won.

Remember everything about visualisation, diaphgramatic breathing to relax, relax, enjoy, laugh about the game, close shave at times, however, we still had the win, expectations placed were too high for that game, remember the Canada game, we still had moments of decisiveness in this game, it’s not over yet, even the best teams have off days, so what, we still bloody won! We can still pat ourselves on the back as key members played well and we still proved good in defence, chill out, too much pressure to perform in unfavourable conditions nocked us back for this game, we can now recharge for Italy where we can prove we can play good Rugby.

Well done, it’s another win under our belts under tremendous pressure. Don’t worry about a thing. Wev’e got to fire ourselves up for the Italy game. Then New Zealand.”
