The Celtic Warriors fullback, who recovered from knee surgery just in time to make the trip to Australia, left the field early against Italy with a bruised shin.

But Morgan is fighting fit again and wants to return for the clash with the new bookies favourites in order to measure himself against the best in the world.

“I’d love to play, I mean the All Blacks match is huge,” said the 26-year-old Pontypridd product.

“We don’t get to play them very often, it’s a massive match. “I grew up watching the All Blacks on television and I admire them and I hold them in high regard.

“It’s a big challenge with no one giving us much of a chance apart from ourselves. But we’re not going out there to make the numbers up; far from it.

“We’ve got ambitions in this World Cup and we are going to give it the best we’ve got.”

And the Wales squad will be well prepared for the All Blacks, with Kiwi coach Hansen making sure his players have had a good look at New Zealand performances so far.

“We’ve been looking at videos of New Zealand matches over the past few days,” said Morgan.

“And it is true to say that like any team they have their weaknesses, although they don’t have many, but we’ve got to try and disrupt them.”

Wales have already qualified for the RWC quarter-finals and a likely meeting with England, so Morgan would be playing for pride alone if he is picked to face the Kiwis. For that reason Hansen may rest Morgan, who seems to be his first choice full-back when fully fit, but the coach is giving no clues ahead of naming his team this Friday.

“He’s as dry as ever,” added Morgan. “But I think you could see after the match on Saturday that a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders because he has been under a lot of pressure for us to make the quarter finals.

“So he’s been a little bit more relaxed now, but he obviously wants us to do well.”
