Eleven of the squad, capably led by Rhys Williams, headed off on Thursday afternoon for an extreme adventure with the sharks in the Manly Aquarium.
The aquarium is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Manly, and it doesn’t come more adventurous than jumping in with the white pointers, string rays and other weird and wonderfully named marine life.
With the viewing tunnel jammed packed full of school holiday makers, the players made the most of their underwater experience by getting close, and in some cases, accidentally touching the sting rays and predatory fish.
The experience was described as “awesome” and “absolutely magic” by the group which also included Colin Charvis and Robert Sidoli, who have both completed diving courses.
