Suspensions for any players red carded during a Celtic Rugby fixture had been imposed in matches but, with immediate effect, the suspensions will now be imposed in time. This is in line with the disciplinary procedures in
force in Ireland and Scotland, the other nations competing in the Celtic Rugby tournaments.
“It would be wrong to be in a position where our players are disadvantaged,” said Steve Lewis, Welsh Rugby Union General Manager. “We have decided it is right and proper if our players are banned for a length
of time for offences committed in Celtic Rugby matches. All other WRU disciplinary sanctions remain the same.”
