With rain ruining the matches at Blackwood and Rumney, it left three other matches playing. In those, Carmarthen Athletic stayed ahead of Bonymaen after a 19-13 win, despite losing the try-count by 2-1. Athletic No 8 Graham Evans scored his club’s try to go to 99 in aggregate of league tries- the second-highest forward.
UWIC came away with a 33-24 success up at Tredegar with Gareth Morgan scoring 18 points for the Students, and Brynmawr crossed for four tries in a 24-3 win over Beddau.
Only two matches were playedin Division Two East, where Hirwaun gained a 61-0 success against Penygraig in a match littered with passive scrums and Llantwit Fardre gained a 13-6 win on Dinas Powys Common.
In the West, Dunvant regained the leadership after a 32-3 win at Cardigan, as Cwmllynfell’s match was called off at home to Pencoed, as were those matches at Aberavon Quins and Bridgend Athletic.
Botom club Vardre fell by 43-20 at Corus, while neither Birchgrove (at Newcastle Emlyn), nor Waunarlwydd (at Tonmawr) could manage a point, conceding 58 and 16 respectively.
