Millennium Stadium is to host a New Year’s Eve School Party for over 18-year-olds. The event will be the first initiative for Stadium general manager Paul Sergeant after taking all its promotions and event management business in-house.
The Millennium Stadium will turn itself into one big Night Club/’School Playground’ with school buses flanking the pitch, industrial heaters and a closed roof to keep party goers warm and the longest bar in the UK – stretching across the Stadium’s halfway line. Drinks and food will be served at high street prices as the Stadium attempts to compete with pubs and clubs around Cardiff to put on the biggest New Year’s Eve party in Wales. Entrances prices too have been kept as low as possible with low level lighting and school buses creating the playground on which to dance the night away.
‘The Millennium Stadium barbeque we had on the pitch as a send-off for the Wales squad departing for Rugby World Cup gave us an idea of the versatility of our venue,’ said Sergeant.
‘We had over 500 corporate guests at that event and it showed us that, with the right attention to detail, the Stadium can be turned into an ideal party venue.
‘And School Parties have become increasingly popular as themed nights in recent times, so we saw that as an ideal theme around which to base our New Year’s Eve celebrations.’
Tickets for the event will start at £10 if you buy in advance rising to £15 on the night. (A promotional price of £5 will also be on offer via the Stadium’s media partners for details).
