In response to requests for a reaction from the Welsh Rugby Union regarding the appointment of Graham Henry as coach of New Zealand, please see the following comments on behalf of WRU chief executive David Moffett and Wales national coach Steve Hansen.
David Moffett said: “The appointment of Graham Henry as All Blacks coach doesn’t affect Wales in any way other than, as we all know, New Zealand are coming here in November.
“That might add some spice to the occasion and perhaps we should start putting the tickets on sale now.
“Before then I might send an invoice to NZRFU chief executive Chris Moller on behalf of the WRU seeking some recompense for having developed Graham Henry as an international coach!”
Steve Hansen said: “I would like to congratulate Graham on his appointment and I wish him all the best in his new role.”
