No.8, Dafydd Jones, insists the set back won’t affect the team’s performance in the lead up to the France fixture in two weeks time in the Millennium Stadium. The Scarlets forward believes the squad will pick themselves up and be prepared for the next Test.
“It’s going to take a couple of days to get over this but we have to pick ourselves up for the next challenge,” said the 25 year-old. “We are determined not to let this set us back. We have all worked hard for the gains that we have done over the last twelve months.”
“We’re all bitterly disappointed we didn’t get our game going and, at the end of the day, we were beaten by a better side.”
Jones refused to be too downhearted by the defeat claiming it was just ‘a bad day at the office’.
Wales now have thirteen days to gather themselves together before the visit of France. The last time France came to Wales, 72,500 fans inside the Millennium Stadium were treated to a thrilling match that finished 37-33 to the visitors.
A tense tussle was not decided until the final moments, the video referee was called into action to adjudicate on not one, but two occasions. First Scott Quinnell was denied after eighty-four minutes, then, in the eighty-eighth minute, a Dafydd James crossing was deemed ‘No Try’.
