Chief destroyer for the Black Army was outside half Jason Alford who crossed for two of the tries and added 20 conversions to amass a personal tally of 50 points. Replacement wing Martin Griffiths touched down five times and right wing Tom Botwood claimed a hat-trick as Llantrisant poured over the visitors line at will.

top by Builth Wells who beat the Ironmen 22-13 at the Wern. George Jenkins, Richard Gealey and Tom Bain crossed for the Bulls and Chris Ower kicked the remaining points. Merthyr went down to 14 men when their prop was red-carded and they are now level on points with Builth but the mid Wales outfit have a game in hand.

Risca saw a half time lead of 15-5 disappear as Llantwit Fardre stormed through in the second period to win 24-18, Abercynon defeated Croesyceiliog 22-10 and Fleur de Lys beat Hirwaun 27-14 to remain in contention with the leaders.
