The Old Parish ran in 21 tries with Grant Epton grabbing six to take him to 30 in 29 matches, while Llanharan are now nine points behind but have three games in hand and try-count could well decide the title.
The margin of tries is 28 in Maesteg’s favour, but Bonymaen held the Dairymen out for 70 minutes at Parc Mawr, before the visitors won 39-23 with six tries resulting and now the clubs meet again on Saturday at Llanharan.
Beddau are finishing strongly and their young squad won by 54-5 at Treorchy and Tredegar are another side bouncing back. Tredegar ran riot over Rumney by 43-17 with Gareth Price (3), James Wheeler, Chris Edwards and Austin Morgan scoring tries and Gareth Kearney goaling five and adding a penalty, Glamorgan Wanderers won 23-17 at UWIC to complete an April double and Narberth had a fine 19-16 win at Llangennech as Fifi Faletau, Deiniol Evans and Andrew Jones scored tries.
Brynmawr beat Blackwood 27-10 and Carmarthen Athletic came from behind to win 39-29 at Whitland, helped by the excellent kicking by fly half Julian Howells.
