“I really don’t think that anyone can catch them on their current form but we will do our best. “I’m optimistic of achieving a promotion place but we are taking it one game at a time. We have got matches against Bryncoch and Maesteg Quins coming up and they will be crunch meetings that will determine our season.”
Banwen went on their merry way with a 23-16 win at Nantyffyllonwhile Maesteg Quins held onto their second place with a 27-24 win at close rivals Kenfig Hill. Bryncoch moved onwards after a 31-15 success over visitors Brynamman.
Seven Sisters slightly improved their position after beating fellow strugglers Trebanos 28-14, and Skewen won 28-14 at Glynneath. Tries from Justin Loveridge, Mark Bilenki and Rhodri Pretty eased East leaders Senghenydd to a 22-6 victory over Pontypool United.

Gilfach Goch’s title hopes have been put on hold in South East after bitter rivals Treherbert edged home 19-18 to take over top spot. As the winners also have a game in hand on Gilfach it was one the home side had to win.
