The former Celtic Warriors full back Kevin has experience playing the wing position, and will be a important player in the Dragons’ set up should his notorious injury problems remain in the past.
Morgan has represented Wales on 26 occasions scoring five tries. However he has been dogged by injuries throughout his career, and has always been on the brink of greatness. He traveled to the World Cup last year, but spent little time on the park after injuring his knee during a match against Italy.
Morgan, 27, recovered to play six games for the Warriors last season.
“Out and out fullbacks are difficult to come across,” commented Newport Gwent Dragons Chief Executive Andy Marinos, “but in Kevin Morgan we have a quality full back who is capable of coming into the attacking line and is solid in defence.
“We are delighted to have signed Kevin whose experience and talents will add to the squad greatly. Despite being aged just 27, Kevin is experienced both on the European and International stage and his experience can only add further to our squad.”
Morgan is the seventh player to have joined the Newport Gwent Dragons joining Ceri Sweeney, Gareth Cooper, Gareth Wyatt, Jon Bryant, Richard Bryan and James Richards who have all committed their future to the south east region.
