Wales put the first points on the board through a well worked try from full back Philippa Tuttiet but the Blue Bulls went ahead shortly afterwards when a break in the Welsh defence allowed them to score under the posts.
The young Welsh side were a credit and came straight back with a well deserved try from Winger Hannah Szigetvari but a penalty for the Blue Bulls just before half time evened the score at 10-10 at the break.
Some dubious decisions from the referee, including a red card for Hannah Szgetvari reduced Wales to 13 players for periods of the second half but they defended bravely and some intelligent attacking phases almost resulted in Wales taking the lead on several occasions.
The Blue Bulls added their second try shortly after the break with the final score remaining at 15-10.
Head Coach Wayne Pugh commented after the game, “I am immensely proud of the girls tonight. Each and every one of them gave it their all and so much that we have worked for this season has been achieved tonight.”
The Senior Welsh side play the Springboks on Saturday at the Loftus Stadium in Pretoria.
