Abercynon seemed up against it at Abergavenny who led 3-0 at the interval thanks to a Graham Spence penalty, but Cynon came good on the restart and waltzed to a 38-3 success, crossing the home line six times in a one-sided second half display.
Trefil, the only Welsh Districts side left in the competition, bowed out after a 37-5 defeat to visitors Bryncoch from Three South West, while doughty cup fighters of old, Garnddifaith, bit the dust after narrowly losing 21-19 at home to Talywain.
Llangefni from Four North gave hosts Senghenydd a real battle before losing 19-17. Simon Milford and Julian Short crossed for the winners and John Griffiths completed the scoring with three penalty kicks.
Builth Wells were too strong for Newport Saracens, securing a 48-6 passage through to the next stage and Blackwood overcame recent poor league form to win 26-17 at Llantrisant.
Kidwelly sprinted in for 11 tries in their 75-7 defeat of Haverfordwest but there was no joy for fellow Two West outfit Felinfoel who were beaten 24-17 at Llantwit Fardre.
On the league scene there was a sensational performance in Division One from Bonymaen who travelled to Narberth and won 32-0. Hooker Darren Poland, lock Stuart Miller and wing Chris Batsford all crossed and they were also awarded a penalty try.
Rob Richards completed the scoring with three conversions and a brace of penalties. In Five East, Abertillery BG romped to a 30-15 win over visitors St Albans although the Cardiff-based side had kept it tight at 12-10 up to the interval.
Kristian Gay touched down twice for the Gwent side to add to tries by Paul Rogers and Lee Bowden while Alun Owen poppedup with a five-pointer to claim the Buns only points of the second half.
South Wales Police could be on the way back to their former glory as the table toppers went further ahead in Five South East with a comfortable 48-0 success over old Penarthians.
Gareth Bishop and David Barry claimed a brace apiece as the Police rattled in eight tries with Justin Lott adding four conversions.
