“Our advice to fans, even if they are desperate to get a ticket to the game, is not to pay over face value. It doesn’t help the game, lets the touts get rich off the back of an occasion to which they have no loyalty and could end up in tears.”
In addition to urging fans not to buy on the black market, Sergeant is also concerned about the number of duplicate tickets he has had to issue ahead of the game.
“We have been forced to issue almost 150 duplicate tickets because of potential theft, loss in the postal system or other extreme circumstances,” said Sergeant. “While this is customary practice, we found that a number of people turned up for the game against
“If a ticket has been reported as stolen, and someone appears at the game with that ticket, then we are honour bound to pass them over to the Police.”
Sergeant’s advice to people who have bought a ticket on the black market is to check their ticket numbers against the list of duplicate tickets. These are listed on both the WRU and Millennium Stadium websites (www.wru.co.uk and http://www.millenniumstadium.com/Â and below this news item.
“If you are a holder of one of these tickets then we suggest you return to your point of sale and seek a refund,” added Sergeant.
