“Inoke is a mobile, physical forward. He has a huge presence in the second row with useful ball skills for a man of his size,” said Scarlets chief executive Stuart Gallacher. “We look forward to welcoming him to Stradey at the beginning of June for pre-season training.”
The Welsh region has agreed terms with Leeds Tykes No.8 Alix Popham while Wales prop Iestyn Thomas has signed a new three-year contract.
Welshman Popham is understood to have negotiated an early release from his contract at Headingley after being approached to succeed the retiring Scott Quinnell at Llanelli. Meanwhile Thomas has committed to stay at Stradey Park until 2008 despite an injury-hit season that has kept him out of the Wales squad since winning his last of his 30 caps almost exactly a year ago against France.
Thomas said: “I’m delighted to have signed with the region for a further three seasons. It has been a frustrating season but I’m looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.”
