John Dawes was skipper in all four Tests in New Zealand in 1971 and David Watkins was in charge of two of the four Tests in the same country in 1966. Cliff Morgan led the Lions in the third of four Tests in South Africa in 1955 and Bleddyn Williams skippered the tourists in two Tests in New Zealand and one in Australia in 1950.
Jack Jones was captain for the first Test in South Africa in 1910 and Alf ‘Boxer’ Harding was in charge for all three Tests in New Zealand in 1908. Teddy Morgan took over for the second and third Tests in Australia and the first Test played in New Zealand in 1904.
