WWRU REPRESENTATIVE SQUAD STRUCTURES 2005-2006

These squads will be comprised of the Wales Senior National Squad, the Wales Development Squad, the Wales Under 17’s squad and the Welsh Students Squad.

Any player (age permitting) wishing to represent Wales at either National or Development squad level must attend the Regional Development Academies which are being held during the summer. 

From these Academies, the soon to be appointed National Coaches will identify approximately 60 players who will then attend a National squad selection weekend (scheduled for the last weekend in September).  Approximately 44 players will be selected to represent Wales at either National or Development squad levels.

North Wales – Colwyn Bay RFC
West Wales – Trinity College, Carmarthen
East Wales – Welsh Institute of Sport, Sophia Gardens

Under 17s and Wales Students
Trials for the Welsh Students squad will take place following the National squad selection campaign. Details of this will be available on the website.

However, those players eligible to represent Wales who may have previously been involved with the Welsh Students are welcome to attend the RDAs.

Selection for the Wales U17s squad will be carried out following completion of the U17s Regional competition.
