Ulster left it late to turn on the heat and steal a dramatic 22-19 win over the Dragons at Rodney Parade on Saturday. The Dragons looked to have it all wrapped up at 16-10 with only six minutes remaining, but the visitors had other ideas as they produced some scintillating rugby to maintain their 100 per cent winning start to the season.

Meanwhile, Charlie Hore kicked a penalty with ten minutes remaining to give Border Reivers a 17-15 victory over their Celtic League basement rivals Connacht; Reivers recording their first ever away win in the Celtic League even though reduced to 14 men for most of the match following the sending off of Samoan international Semo Sititi in the 10th-minute.

At Hughenden, the Blues took full advantage of a subdued Glasgow Warriors performance to record a 28-23 bonus point win. After last weekend’s superb win over Munster, Warriors contributed to their own defeat with too many defensive lapses.

At the beginning of the round on Friday night Munster held on for a 14-13 victory over a gritty the Scarlets after coming back from 8-13 down at half time, the Irishmen recording their 16th straight home victory in the process.

And in the final match of the weekend Ospreys suffered a second consecutive defeat on a trip to Scotland, this time Edinburgh Gunners taking the points in a 24-18 victory at Murrayfield.

The results left Ulster still sitting at the top of the table, with the Blues moving up into second place thanks to their four ties in the victory at Glasgow, whilst Gunners slipped into third. At the bottom of the table Reivers climb above Ospreys whilst Connacht remain anchored to the basement.
