TYLORSTOWN LADIES’ UNBEATEN RUN CONTINUES
Tylorstown ladies travelled to Crumlin to face Blaenau Gwent in their 3rd league fixture. They once again came away with a win but more impressively kept a clean sheet for the third consecutive game. This was due to the fact that Tylorstown dominated play and rarely allowed Blaenau Gwent clean possession.
Tylorstown’s game was based around strong forward play and creative back movements. It took a while for the Tyly girls to settle down but soon they were on the score sheet with Non Evans scoring first under the posts which she duly converted.
Blaenau put up a strong defence but with Tylorstown building up the phases the gaps in defence were there to be exploited. The backs once again got the majority of tries with Non, Bambi Thompson and Lulu Daniels all getting on the score sheet. Lulu has now scored in every game this season and has had a tremendous start to the season. The forwards also contributed to the tries with Liza ‘Bird’ Burgess getting 2 tries and Jamie Kift 1.
With several regulars missing from the squad because of injuries, illness and university commitments the Tyly girls still looked a threat for the full 80 minutes. They were well lead from Frodo Gibbins and were always on the front foot scoring at regular intervals. Debutant Danielle looked very comfortable on the ball and will surely be a regular on the wing in seasons to come.
Tylorstown ladies are looking to recruit players of all standards if you are interested in playing rugby please come and join us any Monday or Wednesday for training at Penrhys Park 7 – 8:30pm or call Rachel on 07917035473 for more information.
