REEBOK REGIONAL ROUND UP U18

The Ospreys defeated the Blues 15-3 at Aberavon whilst the Scarlets saw off the Dragons at Llandovery. Jonathan Jones and Rhys Lawrence bagged tries for the Ospreys as they took control against the Blues and with Lee Halfpenny adding a conversion and penalty the home region booked their place in next week’s final.

Regional high performance manager Dai Arthur said, “we are absolutely delighted. We have played well all season and with the exception of one game – against the Blues at Pontypridd – I think we can be proud of the way we have played.

“It would be nice to think we can go one step further and win the final – I think the boys deserve it.”

The Scarlets scored three tries in their 22-13 defeat of the Dragons – Josh Turnbull, Daniel Evans and Jamie Charlton on the mark as the Dragons were beaten once again. Evans added two conversions and a penalty to make sure and the side will now be looking to retain the title they won last season. Manager Wayne Fox said, “We played well and got our just rewards.”
