Bonymaen scrum-half Adrian Killa scored four tries in a man-of-the-match performance, with outside-half Ian Brooks adding two tries and 13 points with the boot.
Another outside-half, Builth Wells’s Rob Lloyd, secured his club’s fifth win of the season with a 21-point haul in their 26-15 home win over Waunarlwydd. The visitors led 10-9 at the break, but Lloyd scored a try and kicked six goals to edge Builth away from the bottom three.
Blackwood were forced to dig deep to fight off a Llangennech comeback and win 23-20. Blackwood led 18-3 at halftime, but tries to Gareth Morgan and Paul Davies gave the home fans a few nervous moments.
Ystrad Rhondda’s poor season continued with a 35-0 shutout at Cwmllynfell, with the home side’s captain and No 8 Jim Morgan chiming in with a brace of tries. Winger Ashley Carter and centre Paul Davies also scored, with fullback Peter Thomas adding three conversions and three penalty goals.
UWIC were on target for a win at Llanharan when the led 20-14 at halftime, but the Students couldn’t add to their score as the home side sneaked over the finish line to win 22-20.
Nicky Morgan scored a brace of tries for the winners, with Matt McLean, Nicky Roberts and Lee Williams scoring first-half tries for the Students.
Centres Rhys Jenkins and Daniel Polk scored tries in Beddau’s hard-fought 20-15 victory at Merthyr as both clubs go into the second half of the season in the top half of the table, while second-placed Newbridge had no problems winning 32-3 at Narberth. Outside-half Greg Jones scored a brace of tries and kicked two goals in an impressive victory.
