CASTELL HOWELL ALSO BACKING WELSH WOMEN
Wales Women have selected a 26 strong squad, the majority of whom are 22 or younger, for their four match series in February and March.
They kick-off their campaign against England Students on Sunday 5 February before travelling to Amsterdam to meet the Dutch side the following weekend. They will then face the British Army and Welsh Students.
“As a growing amateur sport, women’s rugby is reliant on the support of companies such as Castell Howell,” said Jilly Holroyd, Manager, Women and Girls rugby. “The Wales Womens Development squad is a vital stepping-stone for talented young players to make the jump from club to international rugby and thus quality, competitive fixtures are imperative to their advancement.
“Through Castell Howell’s sponsorship, the squad will next month travel to face England Students and Holland, before hosting the British Army at home. All three matches will provide the intensity that will equip the girls to up their game and strive for places in the senior Women’s squad in the near future.
“Without the support of Castell Howell, these fixtures would be near on impossible.”
