REEBOK REGIONAL ROUND UP U16

After a scoreless first half in which the two sides were evenly matched, the table-topping Ospreys pulled clear courtesy of a try from Christian Phillips and a couple of penalties from the outside half and captain Daniel Biggar.

High Performance Manager for the Ospreys Dai Arthur said: “It was nip and tuck when we met them earlier in the season and it was the same story tonight. However, our second half performance was good and we have got the points we needed to make sure of a place in the final.”

Phillips got the ball rolling with a try before Biggar, who is one of more than 20 kickers under the watchful eye of Neil Jenkins this season, added a brace of penalties – the second a wind-assisted effort from 50 metres. The Dragons are still in a decent position to follow the Ospreys into next month’s final but the three successive victories for the Blues South could be enough for them to join them.
