THOMAS CONFIRMS TOULOUSE PLANS
Thomas, who has scored 36 tries in a Wales jersey had been linked with joining t Cardiff Blues, but Toulouse president Rene Bouscatel has stated that Thomas will be staying in France.
“Gareth Thomas is not going anywhere,” he said. “He will see out his contract, which has one year left on it.”
And Thomas admits he may even be tempted to take up an option of a further year with the Heineken Cup holders, which will tie up his future in France until the summer of 2008.
“It’s been my intention for a fair while to take up the option of a further year at Toulouse,” Thomas said. “I’ve had a great two years here so far and have received brilliant support from the club since my neck injury.
“I can’t wait to get the Toulouse jersey on again and get back playing.”
Thomas is back in training after his damaged neck artery was given the all-clear by specialists. The injury meant he missed the second half of Wales’ Six Nations campaign.
Thomas won’t play again until the start of next season having been advised by Wales team medics to miss the summer tour to Argentina.
