Principality Premiership preview

The Black and Ambers are two points clear at the top of the league thanks to a ten-try 68-15 demolition of Llandovery at Rodney Parade last time out.

Konica Minolta Cup-holders Ponty sit just three points adrift of Newport in fifth place and a fifth win for Simon King’s side on Saturday would ensure they remain in the title chase.

Reigning champions NEATH look to get their championship bid back on track with a trip to LLANDOVERY this weekend.  

Both sides lost last Saturday with the title-holders going down 18-13 at the Brewery Field and the Drovers on the wrong side of  that hammering at Newport.

The Welsh All Blacks will be favourites for a swift return to winning ways in this tie but a Llandovery win could put a serious dent in their title ambitions.  

Third-placed EBBW VALE aim to continue their climb up the table against struggling BEDWAS at Bridge Field following their victory over SWANSEA who welcome MAESTEG to St Helen’s. 

At the Talbot Athletic ABERAVON play host to a rampant BRIDGEND side flying high on the back of  that win over Neath.

The Ravens stunned the title-holders after a poor start to the season that had  brought just six from 18  points.  

And while there is plenty of ground to make up on the league’s front runners a win against the Wizards would propel Bridgend up the table.  

Aberavon  are hoping for a better slice of luck after losing in successive weeks to Ebbw Vale and Llanelli to last-gasp kicks.  

LLANELLI travel to Pandy Park to face CROSS KEYS while CARDIFF welcome bottom-of-the-table GLAMORGAN WANDERERS to the Arms Park this weekend looking for a fifth win of the season. 

The  Blue and Blacks currently sit in fourth spot and a win would ensure they remain in the leading pack for another week.  

The Wanderers, with only two wins this term, could do with three points on Saturday to avoid being cast adrift at the wrong end of the table.
