Reebok Regional U20 Preview
Having beaten the Scarlets 26-23 at Stradey Park in the opening game of the season, the region will be looking for a quickfire second win when they entertain the Ospreys at the Arms Park (7.15pm). Boasting the lion’s share of the side which defeated the Scarlets three weeks ago, the Blues take on an Ospreys side who have yet to complete a game due to an injury in their opening ficture with the Dragons. That match had to be abandoned after 40 minutes because of a series leg break suffered by Ospreys lock Richard Kelly.
Blues Regional High Performance Manager Gafyn Cooper said, “It has been a terrific start to the season for all three of the Blues sides and we have been delightyed with the way in which they have opened up.
“This contest will be as tough as any because the Ospreys are not only the reigning champions but possibly the favourites to win it again. Still, confidence is high within the Blues squad and it should be another excellent contest in what is turning out to be another outstanding competition.”
In the other game, the Dragons take on the Scarlets with both sides seeking a first win of the season. The Dragons should be at full strength whilst the Scarlets are likely to be missing prop Hugh Gustafson amongst one or two others.
