The action kicked-off at the new home of Welsh sport on Saturday 26 June, 1999, when South Africa were the visitors. Wales won 29-19, to notch a first win over the Springboks.

There are three players who appeared in that game who will be involved in Saturday’s match. Two of the Welsh heroes that day are involved in the current Wales Squad – Neil Jenkins as kicking coach and Gareth Thomas as a squad member – while ex-Wales full back Shane Howarth is now the assistant coach to the Pacific Islands side.

The ’50’ capped games include three Rugby World Cup games from the 1999 tournament that didn’t include Wales. Of the 46 full Welsh internationals played at the Millennium Stadium, Wales have won 24 and drawn two, scoring 138 tries to their opponents 95.
