A brace from Ian Griffiths saw fourth placed Treherbert register a useful 15-0 win over third placed Rhydyfelin. Hooker and captain Griffiths led by example with a double score with outside half Matthew Hutchins slotting a penalty and conversion.
Centre Matthew Entwistle kicked four penalties as bottom side Croesyceiliog and Nantymoel fought out a 12-12 stalemate. Flanker Kevin James and winger Steve Morgan both crossed for the visitors while Calvin Jones kicked a conversion.
Penallta remain top of ASDA League Three East after a brace from Geraint Thomas saw them on their way to a 0-24 win at Brynmawr. The league leaders also scored through fullback Carl Rees, whilst outside half Gareth Davies added three conversions and a penalty.
In the league’s only other game to survive the weather, Blaina stole a valuable 13-7 victory over third placed Cwmbran. Winger Richard Jones scored a try for fourth placed Blaina and outside half Nicky Strange kicked a conversion and two penalties.
In ASDA League Four East Nantyglo Captain David Williams led his side to a 14-11 win over Llandaff. Nantyglo were 0-11 behind at the interval before scrum half and Captain Williams crossed twice with outside half Richard Powell holding his nerve to secure both conversions.
Centre Rhys Nicholas scored a try, conversion and a penalty for a ten-point haul as mid-table Machen saw off third placed Risca 25-5. There were further tries from wing pairing Lloyd Williams and John Davies, and centre Paul Clarkson.
Abertillery BG opened up a six-point lead at the top of ASDA League Five East with a fine 15-22 away win at second placed Chepstow. Fullback Darren Miles scored a try, penalty and two conversions as Abertillery BG notched a tenth win of the season. There was a further try for No.8 Gareth Collier and the visitors were also awarded a penalty try.
Back rower Simon Bailey was the hat-trick hero for Caldicot as they defeated second from bottom RTB Ebbw Vale 41-3. There were also tries for Christopher Shuck, Tim Hanks and Justin Lewis while fullback Vince Minto kicked four conversions and a penalty.
Elsewhere Blaenavon defeated Bettws 5-0.
