Wilson set to win 50 caps

The match, which takes place at Boroughmuir RFC, Edinburgh (1.00pm) will see Wales Women look to continue their winning streak in this year’s Six Nations campaign.

Dr Wilson, a recent PhD graduate and sports psychology lecturer at the University of Wales Institute Cardiff, will be one of a handful of Wales Women’s rugby players to reach the milestone, following in the footsteps of current team mates Louise Rickard, Liza Burgess, Claire Donovan, Rhian Williams, Jamie Kift and Mellissa Berry.

Head Coach Fielies Coetsee makes one change to the line up after their 10-5 victory over Ireland last weekend, with Gemma Hallett starting in the second row in place of Claire Donovan who is named on the bench.

Coetsee said: “It was very important for us to get a victory in the first weekend of the Six Nations but our performance must improve if we are to beat the Scots.

“Our 5-0 victory against Scotland last year was the first in 10 years and that was on home soil and I know they are targeting this game as one to win. Despite their heavy loss to England last weekend, they will be a very tough challenge and cannot be underestimated.”

The match is being played at Boroughmuir RFC, only two miles from Murrayfield, allowing fans to support the women before heading off to the sell out men’s fixture. Tickets to the game are just £5 on the gate, or free, if supporters have a ticket to the men’s game.
