After his try-scoring Premiership debut at Bridgend, Rees switches to the wing for the Arms Park encounter (kick-off 2.30pm), with the experienced Richard Jones filling the centre vacancy.
Other changes behind the scrum see the return of Craig Evans at fly half and a first game of the season for Darren Allinson. Evans has scored 343 points in 36 games for the Blue and Blacks since his club debut 14 months ago.
A positional change at prop sees Richard Cornock move across to the loose head with Scott Roberts coming in at tight head. Bradley Davies has his second Premiership outing of the campaign at lock while Dan McShane, at No.8, plays his 94th game for the club.
Director of Coaching Justin Burnell said, “We are delighted with the unbeaten start after five matches but we are far from the finished article.
“There is still a lot of work to do but there is a fantastic spirit in the squad with the youngsters like Richard Cornock, Gary Horrigan, Adam Whitney, Roger Davies and Gareth Davies who have come in this season making an impressive contribution.”
Cardiff’s two Premiership fixtures against Llanelli this season have been reversed. The match on November 10th will now be played at Stradey Park with the return fixture on April 5th 2008 at Cardiff Arms Park.
