Horsman suffered the injury while playing against Leeds at the weekend on his first game back after Rugby World Cup duty.
Horsman is now waiting to learn the full extent of the damage following an operation. He is almost certain to miss Wales’s Millennium Stadium meeting with World Cup finalists South Africa on November 24th in the inaugural Prince William cup match between the two nations.
And that has left the 14-cap prop distraught over his misfortune and fearful of a lengthy lay-off that could threaten his part in the 2008 RBS Six Nations.
“It looks like I’ve ruptured the bicep and the ligament has come off the bone,” said the ex-Bridgend and Celtic Warriors forward. “I am devastated. I don’t know what the prognosis will be until I’ve seen the surgeon. I’ll take it from there.
“Hopefully it might turn out to be just a slight tear and I’ll be out for four to six weeks, but, if the prognosis is not good, it will be longer.
“It’s so frustrating and disappointing because I was looking forward to a big season with Worcester this year.”
Wales will be under the command of Caretaker Coach Nigel Davies for the Prince William Cup clash next month, but are already without British Lion No.8 Ryan Jones.
