Jason Robinson, a Rugby World Cup winner in 2003 and a key figure during England’s stirring defence of the title last month, will be making his final first class appearance. The 33-year-old retired from all rugby after the World Cup but his farewell at Twickenham will be well-received at the home of England Rugby.
Mark Regan will captain the team after his club over his involvement in the fixture. Bristol had claimed that he is in breach of contract, but Regan commented: “I was asked to captain the Barbarians and I consider it a massive honour to do that.”
