Abercynon and Mountain Ash kept in touch at the top with wins over Tredegar and Builth Wells respectively while bottom club Llanishen were again unlucky not to break their duck as Treherbert’s Gareth Roberts dropped a late goal to edge their match 8-6.
In Division Three, Pontypool United threw the form book out of the window to take the prized scalp of the leaders Croesyceiliog. Matthew Entwhistle’s 17-point salvo for Croesy was in vain as the home side came through 26-17, with outside half Morgan West contributing 16 points of his own.
Elsewhere, Nicky Strange was Brynmawr’s hero as he darted over for a hat-trick in his side’s 24-20 win at Senghenydd and in Division Four Llandaff shaded the Cardiff derby match against Rhiwbina as a late Chris Voyce try handed them a 26-24 triumph.
Blaenavon lead Division Five after a 22-3 victory over Chepstow.
